DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE CHIEF TECHNICAL
OFFICER WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE
MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR ROAD
TRAFFIC UNDER REGULATION 88
OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC
REGULATIONS, 1984

  1. These directions may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motoring Club Barbados, Inc. “Rally of the Sun & Stars”) Directions, 2023.
  2. The following roads will be closed during the specified period:

On Saturday September 9, 2023

(a) Between the hours of 1.00 p.m. and 11.00 p.m. in the parish of Saint Peter, the section of the road known as Welchtown road, commencing from the junction with the said road and Highway 2, proceeding in a southerly direction on Indian Grounds road, continuing westerly on Prospect road, proceeding in a westerly direction on White Hall road and finishing at the junction with Orange Hill road.

(b) Between the hours of 1.00 p.m. and 11.00 p.m. in the parishes of Saint Lucy and Saint Peter, the section of the road known as Church Hill road, commencing from its junction with Mount Gilboa road, proceeding in an easterly direction on the said Church Hill road, continuing in an easterly direction on Alexandra road, continuing east on Lamberts Road, proceeding southerly and finishing at the junction with Date Tree Hill and Collins roads.

  1. Any person who contravenes these directions or fail to comply with the orders given by a member of the Barbados Police Service in uniform, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500.00 or imprisonment for a term of six (6) months.
  2. These rules do not apply to vehicles used by the Barbados Police Service, the Fire Service or any  Ambulance Service.
