Duties, Taxes and Other Payments (Exemption) Act

DUTIES, TAXES AND OTHER PAYMENTS (EXEMPTION) (SANITATION SERVICE AUTHORITY) (NO. 2) ORDER, 2025
The Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 of the Duties, Taxes and Other Payments (Exemption) Act, with the approval of the Cabinet, makes the following Order:
- This Order may be cited as the Duties, Taxes and Other Payments (Exemption) (Sanitation Service Authority) (No. 2) Order, 2025.
- The Sanitation Service Authority is exempt from the payment of
(a) $1 336 324.74 being import duties, excise taxes and value added taxes in respect of the purchase of the following vehicles :
(i)
2024 MAN Garbage Collector/Compactor bearing Engine Number 50562962886293 and Chassis Number WMA19FZZ9NP191014;
(ii)
2024 MAN Garbage Collector/Compactor bearing Engine Number 50562961686293 and Chassis Number WMA19FZZ5NP190958;
(iii) 2024 MAN Garbage Collector/Compactor bearing Engine Number 50562931566293 and Chassis Number WMA19FZZ9NP190395;
(iv) 2024 MAN Garbage Collector/Compactor bearing Engine Number 50562932426293 and Chassis Number WMA19FZZ6NP190385;

(b) $150 595.39 being import duties, excise taxes and value added taxes in respect of the purchase of the following related items:
(i)
Bergmann Mobile Pack Bin/Portable Compactor bearing Serial Number BE024783;
(ii)
Bergmann Mobile Pack Bin/Portable Compactor bearing Serial Number BE027484;
(iii) Bergmann Mobile Pack Bin/Portable Compactor bearing Serial Number BE024785;
(iv)
Hydraulic hoses for cart lifters; and
(v)
RFID reader shipment containing vision RFID, RFID brackets and cables.

DUTIES, TAXES AND OTHER PAYMENTS (EXEMPTION) (ATIBA ALUKO) ORDER, 2025
The Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 of the Duties, Taxes and Other Payments Act, with the approval of the Cabinet, makes the following Order:
- This Order may be cited as the Duties, Taxes and Other Payments (Exemption)(Atiba Aluko) Order, 2025.
- Atiba Aluko is exempt from the payment of
(a)
import duty in the sum of $34 513.06;
(b)
excise tax in the sum of $304, 322.34; and
(c)
value added tax in the sum of $119,694.05,
in respect of the importation of one 2024 GMC sierra wheel chair accessible motor vehicle bearing VIN number VIN1GTPHGE82RZ369000.
- The exemption referred to in paragraph (2) is granted on the condition that the vehicle should be kept for a period of 5 years and must not be sold or disposed of without the prior approval of the Minister responsible for Finance.
- Where the vehicle is sold or otherwise disposed of within 5 years of the date of its importation, Atiba Aluko shall repay any duties and taxes owing on the vehicle to the Comptroller of Customs.
