Section 7 subsections (1) and (2) of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, Cap. 116A of the Laws of Barbados (“the Act”) provide as follows:
“7. (1) The Chief Justice may assign one or more magistrates to a district and may assign a magistrate to more than one district.
(2) Where more than one magistrate is assigned to a district each such magistrate shall exercise concurrent jurisdiction in that district with the other or others so assigned.”
- Accordingly, in the exercise of the powers vested in me under Section 7 subsections (1) and (2) of the Act, I direct that, in addition to her assignment at District A, Traffic and Criminal, Magistrate Allison Burke shall be assigned to District E effective 1 November 2025 to 27 February 2026.
