DUTIES, TAXES AND OTHER PAYMENTS (EXEMPTION) (MULTICURRENCY TERM FACILITY AGREEMENT) ORDER, 2022

The Minister, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 3 of the

Duties, Taxes and Other Payments (Exemption) Act, makes the following Order:

  1. This Order may be cited as the Duties, Taxes and Other Payments(Exemption) (Multicurrency Term Facility Agreement) Order, 2022.
  2. In this Order, “Multicurrency Term Facility Agreement” means theFacility Agreement entered into on the 20th day of September, 2022 between the Government of Barbados, FirstCaribbean International Bank (Barbados) Limited and BB Blue Financing Company DAC as Original Lenders, Credit Suisse International and FirstCaribbean International Bank (Barbados) Limited as Joint Arrangers, and FirstCaribbean International Bank (Barbados) Limited as Facility Agent relating to the loan of the sum of approximately $293 037 600 made to the Government of Barbados and approved by Resolution of Parliament No.20/2022.

  3. All persons are exempt from the payment of all duties, taxes and otherimposts in respect of all documents and transactions related to the Multicurrency Term Facility Agreement.

    DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR ROADTRAFFIC UNDER REGULATION 88 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATIONS, 1984
    1. These directions may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motoring Club Barbados, Inc. “Speed Trials”) Directions, 2022.
    2. The following roads will be closed during the specified period:
      On Saturday October 15, 2022
      (a) Between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the parish of Saint Lucy, the section of road known as Church Hill road, commencing from its junction with Nesfield road, proceeding in an easterly and north easterly direction along the said Church Hill road, continuing in an easterly direction on Mount Gay road, proceeding in a westerly direction on Cottage road and finishing at the junction with Cottage and Pickering roads.2 S.I. 2022 No. 85
    3. Any person who contravenes these directions or fails to comply with the orders given by a member of the Barbados Police Service in uniform, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500.00 or imprisonment for a term of six (6) months.
    4. These rules do not apply to vehicles used by the Barbados

Police Service, the Fire Service or any  Ambulance Service.

DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR ROAD

TRAFFIC UNDER REGULATION 88 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATIONS, 1984

  1. These directions may be cited as the Road Traffic (Barbados Rally Club, “BRC Winter Rally”) Directions, 2022.
  2. The following roads will be closed during the specified period:
    On Sunday October 16, 2022
    1. Between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the parish of Saint Andrew, the section of road known as Belleplaine road, commencing from the junction with Lakes road, proceeding in a southerly direction on the said Belleplaine road, continuing in a southerly direction on Haggatts road and St. Sylvan’s road (Dark Hole), continuing in a westerly and southerly direction on Lower Parks road and finishing at the junction with Upper Parks road.2 S.I. 2022 No. 86
    2. Between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the parishes of Saint Andrew and Saint Peter, the section of road known as Turner’s Hall road, commencing from the junction with Bawden road, proceeding in a south westerley direction on the said Turner’s Hall road, continuing in a westerly direction on Rock Hall road, proceeding in a notherly and westerly direction on the said Rock Hall road and finishing at the junction with Black Bess road.
  3. Any person who contravenes these directions or fails to comply with the orders given by a member of the Barbados Police Service in uniform, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500.00 or imprisonment for a term of six (6) months.
  4. These rules do not apply to vehicles used by the Barbados Police Service, the Fire Service or any  Ambulance Service.
