DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE CHIEF TECHNICAL
OFFICER WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE
MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR ROAD
TRAFFIC UNDER REGULATION 88
OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC
REGULATIONS, 1984
1. These directions may be cited as the Road Traffic (Barbados Rally Club, “King of The Hill” and “Rally Barbados 2024”) Directions, 2024.
2. The following roads will be closed during the specified periods:
On Sunday May 26, 2024
(a) Between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. in the parishes of Saint Philip and Saint John, the section of the road known as Thicket’s road, commencing from the junction of the said road, proceeding in a northerly direction on Highway 3, continuing easterly towards Supers road, proceeding in a north westerly direction on Sealy Hall road, continuing towards Society road, proceeding towards Colleton road and finishing two hundred metres from Victoria Plantation.
On Friday May 31, 2024
(b) Between the hours of 7.00 p.m. and 11.00 p.m. in the parish of Saint Philip, the section of the road known as Fairfield road, commencing from the junction of the said road, proceeding in a westerly direction on Sandford road and finishing at its junction with Bushy Park road.
(c) Between the hours of 7.30 p.m. and 10.00 p.m. in the parishes of Saint John and Saint George, the section of road known as Halton road, commencing from the junction of the said road and Hill View road, continuing northerly on Kendal road, continuing north on Cliff road, proceeding westerly on Guinea road and proceeding in a northerly direction on Ashford road, continuing westerly and finishing at the junction with Cherry Grove road.
On Saturday June 1, 2024
(d) Between the hours of 9.30 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. in the parishes of Saint John and Saint Joseph, the section of the road known as Sweet Vale, commencing from the end of the said road, proceeding northerly on Redland and Claybury roads, continuing in an easterly direction on Wilson Hill road, proceeding in a north easterly direction on Easy Hall road, continuing in an easterly direction on Malvern road and finishing one hundred meters west of Hothersal.
(e) Between the hours of 9.30 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. in the parishes of Saint John and Saint George, the section of road known as Ellesmere, proceeding southerly on Todds road, continuing in an easterly direction on Woodland and Kendal roads, proceeding in a northerly direction on Ashford road, continuing easterly to Colleton road, proceeding in a southerly direction on Society road and finishing two hundred metres before Codrington High School.
(f) Between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. in the parish of Saint Philip, the section of road known as Harrow Road, commencing from the junction with Sunbury road, proceeding easterly on the said Harrow Road, continuing in a southerly direction on Bushy Park road, proceeding north easterly on Sandford Fairfield road, continuing northerly towards Three Houses and finishing in a north easterly direction at the junction with Blades Hill Road.
On Sunday June 2, 2024
(g) Between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. in the parish of Saint Andrew, the section of road known as Farrell’s road, commencing from the junction of the said road, proceeding in a southerly direction on Lakes road, continuing southerly on St. Sylvans road (Dark Hole), proceeding in an easterly direction on Upper Parks road, continuing north easterly on Saddleback road and finishing at the junction with Saddleback and Newton Crescent road.
(h) Between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. in the parish of Saint Peter, the section of road known as Indian Ground, commencing from the junction with the said road, proceeding south westerly on Four Hill road, continuing in a northerly direction on Orange Hill road, proceeding in an easterly direction through French Village and finishing one hundred metres from Mount Brevitor road.
(i) Between the hours of 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. in the parish of Saint Lucy, the section of the road known as Date Tree Hill road, commencing from its junction with Collins road, proceeding in a westerly direction on Lamberts road, continuing in a westerly direction to Alexandra and Cottage roads, proceeding in a northerly direction on Highway 1C road, continuing westerly on Harris road, proceeding westerly through Mount Poyer road and finishing two hundred metres south of St. Swithin’s Church.
(j) Between the hours of 3.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. in the parish of Saint Thomas, the section of road known as Duke’s road, commencing from its junction with Lion Castle road, proceeding southerly on the said Duke’s road and finishing at the junction with Vaucluse and Hangmans Hill roads.
3. Any person who contravenes these directions or fails to comply with the orders given by a member of the Barbados Police Service in uniform commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500.00 or imprisonment for a term of six (6) months.
4. These rules do not apply to vehicles used by the Barbados Police Service, the Fire Service or any Ambulance Service.
