Resolution No. 10/2023 Ref. No.: M.P. 0001/5T1 PARLIAMENT

RESOLVED that Parliament approve the payment of an increased Cost of Living Allowance at the rate of 2% per annum to government pensioners with effect from 1st April, 2023 subject to the conditions set out in the Schedule hereto.


RESOLVED that an additional Cost of Living Allowance of $5.00 per month be granted to those pensioners who retired prior to 1st April, 1976.


RESOLVED that Her Excellency the President be asked to assent and take the necessary steps to give effect to this Resolution.

SCHEDULE


Terms and Conditions for Grant of Cost of Living Allowance


An increase of 2% per annum of the cumulative sum of pension and Cost of Living Allowance as at 31st March, 2023 or $20 per month whichever is greater, is payable as a Cost of Living Allowance to all government pensioners.


Effective 1st April, 2023 an additional sum of $5.00 per month is payable to each government pensioner who retired prior to 1st April, 1976.


The increased Cost of Living Allowance, which takes effect from 1st April, 2023 does not apply to a person whose pension is computed on the revised salaries or wages that take effect from 1st April, 2023, unless the computation of pension on the revised salary or wage, results in an increase of less than $20.00 a month, in which case, the amount by which the increase is less than

$20.00 shall be payable as a Cost of Living Allowance.

Miscellaneous Controls Act CAP. 329

MISCELLANEOUS CONTROLS (CONTROL OF PRICES) (GENERAL) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 3) REGULATIONS, 2023


The Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the

Miscellaneous Controls Act, makes the following Regulations:


  1. These Regulations may be cited as the Miscellaneous Controls

    (Control of Prices) (General) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations, 2023.


  2. The Schedule to the Miscellaneous Controls (Control of Prices)

(General) Regulations, 2015 (S.I. 2015 No. 76) is amended by deleting the following items:

“Diesel Fuel” “Gasolene” “Kerosene”

“Liquefied Petroleum Gas”

appearing in the first column of the Schedule under the Article "PETROLEUM PRODUCTS" and all the words appearing opposite thereto in the columns marked "WHOLESALE PRICE" and "RETAIL PRICE" and substituting therefor the items set out in the Schedule to these Regulations, together with the wholesale and retail prices set out in respect of those items.

These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of April,
