Extension of Absence of the President
Her Excellency The Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason, FB, GCMG, D.A., Q.C., LLD, President, was granted vacation leave to be spent in the United Kingdom from Friday, May 27, 2022 until Saturday, June 18, 2022. The Very Reverend Dr. Jeffrey Douglas Gibson was appointed under Section 33 of the Constitution of Barbados to perform the functions of the office of the President during that period.
Her Excellency, The President of Barbados, made an Official Visit to the Republic of Kenya during the period June 7 to 12, 2022, on the basis of an invitation extended to Her Excellency by H. E. The Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta CGH, the President of the Republic of Kenya.
It was recommended that Her Excellency, who was on vacation leave, suspend her holiday on June 7, 2022 to travel to Nairobi, Kenya and resume her leave from June 13, 2022 with an extension of leave until June 27, 2022 to be spent in the United Kingdom.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 33 of the Constitution of Barbados, The Very Reverend Dr. Jeffrey Douglas Gibson, will continue to perform the functions of the Office of President from June 19 to 27, 2022.(M.P. C100/2 Vol. IV)
