DECLARATION OF APPROVED SMALL BUSINESS (CLARITY XP INC.) ORDER, 2024

The Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 of the Small Business Development Act, makes the following Order:

  1. This Order may be cited as the Declaration of Approved Small Business (Clarity XP Inc.) Order, 2024.
  2. For the purposes of the Small Business Development Act, Cap. 318C, Clarity XP Inc., a company incorporated under the Companies Act, Cap. 308 as Company No. 44297, the registered office of which is located at Enterprise in the parish of Christ Church, is declared to be an approved small business.
  1. Clarity XP Inc. is granted the following incentives in respect of its business:

(a) exemption from import duty on raw materials and plant and equipment imported for use in the business;

(b) exemption from withholding tax on dividends and interest earned on any investment in an approved small business or in any fund approved for investment in small businesses;

(c) exemption from the payment of stamp duty under the Stamp Duty Act, Cap. 91 on all documents related to the business, where the registration of those documents is required by law; and

(d) a deduction of corporation tax of an amount equal to 20 per cent of the actual expenditure incurred in respect of the use of technology, market research and any other activity that is, in the opinion of the Revenue Commissioner, directly related to the development of the business.

The Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 of the Small Business Development Act, makes the following Order:

  1. This Order may be cited as the Declaration of Approved Small

Business (A.M.R Trading Co. Ltd.) Order, 2024.

A.M.R Trading Co. Ltd., a company incorporated under the Companies Act, Cap. 308 as Company No. 20234, the registered office of which is located at Belle Estate Yard, The Belle in the parish of Saint Michael, is declared to be an approved small business.

  • A.M.R Trading Co. Ltd. is granted the following incentives in respect

of its business:

  • exemption from import duty on raw materials and plant and equipment imported for use in the business;
    • exemption from withholding tax on dividends and interest earned on any investment in an approved small business or in any fund approved for investment in small businesses;
    • exemption from the payment of stamp duty under the Stamp Duty Act, Cap. 91 on all documents related to the business, where the registration of those documents is required by law; and
  • a deduction of corporation tax of an amount equal to 20 per cent of the actual expenditure incurred in respect of the use of technology, market research and any other activity that is, in the opinion of the Revenue Commissioner, directly related to the development of the business.

DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE MINISTER  RESPONSIBLE  FOR ROAD

TRAFFIC UNDER REGULATION 88 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATIONS, 1984

  1. These directions may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motoring Club Barbados, Inc.) Directions, 2024.
  • The following roads will be closed during the specified period:

On Sunday July 14, 2024

(a) Between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. in the parish of Saint Lucy, the section of the road known as Mount View road, commencing from the junction of the said Mount View road and Josey Hill road, proceeding in a southerly direction on Lamberts road, continuing westerly to Alexandra road, continuing in a north westerly direction on Cottage road and finishing at the junction with Pickering and H’way 1C roads.

  • Any person who contravenes these directions or fails to comply with the orders given by a member of the Barbados Police Service in uniform, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500.00 or imprisonment for a term of six (6) months.
  • These rules do not apply to vehicles used by the Barbados Police Service, the Fire Service or any Ambulance Service.
