OBJECTS AND REASONS
This Bill would amend the Companies (Economic Substance) Act, 2019 (Act 2019-43) to facilitate the exchange of information generally on resident companies for fiscal periods commencing in 2019, 2020 or 2021.

An Act to amend the Companies (Economic Substance) Act, 2019 (Act 2019-43). ENACTED by the Parliament of Barbados as follows:

Short title

  1. This Act may be cited as the Companies (Economic Substance) (Amendment) Act, 2023.
    Insertion of section 9A into Act 2019-43
  2. The Companies (Economic Substance) Act, 2019 (Act 2019-43) is amended by inserting after section 9, the following:

“Exchange of information generally for certain fiscal periods
9A.(1) Notwithstanding section 9, the Director shall provide to the Barbados competent authority the information filed pursuant to section 8 by a resident company for a fiscal period commencing in 2019, 2020 or 2021.
(2)
Where the Barbados competent authority receives information from the Director under subsection (1) relating to a resident company, the Barbados competent authority shall, in accordance with any law or international agreement relating to exchange of information, exchange full details for each fiscal period of the resident company to the foreign competent authority of the country in which

(a)
a holding company;

(b)
the ultimate holding company; and

(c)
the ultimate beneficial owner,
of the resident company, is resident.”.

LAND ACQUISITION ACT, CAP. 228
(Notice under Section 5)
The acquisition for public purposes of the parcels of land described in the Schedules hereto with the appurtenances having been decided on by the Minister responsible for Lands with the approval of both Houses of Parliament it is hereby declared in pursuance of Section 5 of the Land Acquisition Act, Cap. 228 that the said parcels of land have been acquired for the public purpose of housing development.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL THAT land the property of Megan Scott situate at Beckles Land, New Orleans in the parish of Saint Michael in this Island containing by admeasurement 3486.6 square metres or thereabouts Abutting and Bounding on lands now or formerly of Beckles Land Tenantry (Lots 1, 35 and 36) on an existing footpath on lands now or formerly of Beckles Land Tenantry (Lots 37, 38 and 39) on an existing footpath on lands now or formerly of Beckles Land Tenantry (Lots 40, 22 and 25) on lands now or late of Mohammed Patel (Lot 567) on lands now or late of Ashraf Yusuf Piprawala (Lot 569) on lands now or late of Hasim Teladia (Lot 570) on lands now or formerly of Goddard Enterprises Ltd. on an unpaved road and on the public road called Wharton Gap or however else the same may abut and bound as shown and delineated on a Plan certified on the 8th day of March 2022 by Kevin R. Belgrave, Land Surveyor and recorded in the Lands and Surveys Department on the 8th day of March 2022 as Plan No. 352/2022.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL THAT land the property of Egerton Harding (Lot 562) situate at Kensington New Road in the parish of Saint Michael in this Island containing by admeasurement 782.5 square metres or thereabouts Abutting and Bounding on lands now or late of Christopher Lewis on lands now or late of Dudley Beckles on lands now or late of Rose Sylvester on lands now or late of Matthew Rampersad et ux on other lands of Egerton Harding (Lot 558) on a concrete drain which separates the said land from the public road known as Kensington New Road which leads to Baxters Road in one direction to Lakes Folly in another direction and to Fontabelle in another direction or however else the same may abut and bound as shown and delineated on a Plan certified on the 4th day of March, 2022 by Kevin R. Belgrave, Land Surveyor and recorded in the Lands and Surveys Department on the 8th day of March, 2022 as Plan No. 348/2022.
THIRD SCHEDULE
ALL THAT land the property of Egerton Harding (Lot 558) situate at Kensington New Road in the parish of Saint Michael in this Island containing by admeasurement 284.1 square metres or thereabouts Abutting and Bounding on other lands now or late of Egerton Harding (Lot 562) on lands now or late of Matthew Rampersad et ux on lands now or late of William Crick on other lands now late of Egerton Harding (Lot 557) on a concrete drain which separates the said land from the public road known as Kensington New Road which leads to Baxters Road in one direction to Lakes Folly in another direction and to Fontabelle in the other direction or however else the same may abut and bound as shown and delineated on a Plan certified on the 4th day of March, 2022 by Kevin R. Belgrave, Land Surveyor and recorded in the Lands and Surveys Department on the 8th day of March, 2022 as Plan No. 348/2022.
