NOTICE OF BY- ELECTION ELECTION FOR THE CONSTITUENCY OF

ST. JAMES NORTH

  1. An election is to be held of a Member to serve in the House of Assembly for the said constituency.
  • Nomination papers may be delivered by the candidate or his proposer or seconder to the returning officer at THE GORDON GREENIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. on the 6th day of MAY 2025.
  • Forms of nomination paper may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid. The returning officer will, at the request of any elector prepare for signature a nomination paper.
  • If the election is contested, the poll will take place on the 21st day of

      MAY      2025.

NOTE

  1. The attention of candidates and electors is drawn to the rules for filling up nomination papers and other provisions relating to nomination contained in the election rules in the Second Schedule to the Representation of the People Act, Chapter 12 of the Laws of Barbados.
  • Every person guilty of a corrupt or illegal practice will, on conviction, be liable  to the penalties imposed by the Election Offences and Controversies Act, Chapter 3 of the Laws of Barbados.

BY- ELECTION FOR THE CONSTITUENCY OF ST. JAMES NORTH- LOCATION  OF  REVISING/REGISTRATION CENTRE

  1. In accordance with the provisions of Regulation 35 of the Representation of the People (Registration

of Electors) Regulations 1990, the Electoral and Boundaries Commission has directed that the following Revising Centre be established in the Constituency of St. James North.

  • In accordance with the provisions of Section 18(1)(b) of the Act, the Preliminary List of Electors was published on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
  • The List will be available for inspection at the Revising Centre which is stated below:

  • The above centre will be opened to the public from Friday, May 2, 2025 to Friday, May 9, 2025 between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. with the exception of Sunday, May 4, 2025, until Wednesday, May 7, 2025 for receiving claims and until Friday, May 9, 2025 for receiving objections.
  • The list will also be available for inspection at the Public Library, Independence Square, Bridgetown and the Electoral Office, Warrens Towers II, Warrens, St. Michael.
  • If your name does not appear on the Preliminary List and you are qualified to be registered as an elector for the Constituency, you should apply to the Registering Officer of the respective Centre not later than Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
  • All objections to the registration of other persons should reach the Registering Officer not later than

Friday, May 9, 2025.
