Independent auditor’s report on the summary consolidated financial statements
To the Board of Directors of Island Heritage Insurance Company, Ltd.
Our opinion
In our opinion, the accompanying summary consolidated financial statements of Island Heritage Insurance Company, Ltd. (the Company) are consistent, in all material respects, with the audited consolidated financial statements, and in accordance with section 39 of the Barbados Insurance Act have been translated into the reporting currency of Barbados Dollars from United States of America Dollars at a fixed exchange rate of 2:1.
The summary consolidated financial statements
The Company’s summary consolidated financial statements derived from the audited consolidated financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2021 comprise:
- the summary consolidated statement of financial position as at December 31, 2021;
- the summary consolidated statement of comprehensive income for the year then ended; and
- the notes to the summary consolidated financial statements.
The summary consolidated financial statements do not contain all the disclosures required by International Financial Reporting Standards. Reading the summary consolidated financial statements and the auditor’s report thereon, therefore, is not a substitute for reading the audited consolidated financial statements and the auditor’s report thereon. The audited consolidated financial statements, and the summary consolidated financial statements, do not reflect the effects of events that occurred subsequent to the date of our report on the audited consolidated financial statements.

We expressed an unmodified audit opinion on the audited consolidated financial statements in our report dated March 31, 2022.
Management’s responsibility for the summary consolidated financial statements
Management is responsible for the preparation of the summary consolidated financial statements in accordance with section 39 of the Barbados Insurance Act, which requires the consolidated statements of financial position and comprehensive income to be prepared and published in the reporting currency of Barbados Dollars, and for extracting the summary consolidated financial statements from the audited consolidated financial statements of the Company and converting them from United States of America Dollars into Barbados Dollars at a fixed exchange rate of 2:1.
Auditor’s responsibility
Our responsibility is to express an opinion on whether the summary consolidated financial statements are consistent, in all material respects, with the audited consolidated financial statements based on our procedures, which were conducted in accordance with International Standard on Auditing 810 (Revised), ‘Engagements to Report on Summary Financial Statements’.
Other matter
This report, including the opinion, has been prepared for and only for the Company in accordance with the terms of our engagement letter and for no other purpose. We do not, in giving this opinion, accept or assume responsibility for any other purpose or to any other person to whom this report is shown or into whose hands it may come save where expressly agreed by our prior consent in writing.

Opinion
The summary financial statements, which comprise the summary statement of financial position as at 31 December 2021, the summary statement of comprehensive income, summary statement of changes in equity and summary statement of cash flows for the year then ended and related notes, are derived from the complete audited financial statements of ANSA Merchant Bank (Barbados) Limited (“the Company”) for the year ended 31 December 2021.
In our opinion, the summarised financial statements are consistent, in all material respects, with the audited financial statements, on the basis described in Note 1.
Summary Financial Statements
The summary financial statements do not contain all the disclosures required by International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRSs”). Reading the summary financial statements and the auditor’s report thereon, therefore, is not a substitute for reading the audited financial statements and the auditor’s report thereon.
The Audited Financial Statements and Our Report Thereon
We expressed an unmodified audit opinion on the audited financial statements in our report dated 29 April 2022. The audited financial statements and the summary financial statements do not reflect the effects of events that occurred subsequent to the date of our report on the audited financial statements.
