Central Bank of Barbados (Pensions) (Amendment) Regulations, 2023
The Board in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 31, of the Central Bank of
Barbados Act, Act 2020-30 and all other powers enabling it in that behalf for the purpose of
establishing a Pension Scheme, for which it shall provide funds, makes the following
Regulations:
- These Regulations may be cited as the Central Bank of Barbados (Pensions) Amendment)
Regulations, 2023. - Regulation 2 of the Central Bank of Barbados (Pensions) Regulations, 2011 (hereinafter
referred to as the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (i) of
paragraph (c) in the definition of “pensionable emoluments” and substituting the
following:
“(c) emoluments earned by an officer who has acted in a higher post, including
a temporary post,
(i) for 36 continuous months within the 5-year period immediately
preceding the date of his retirement;” - Regulation 11 of the principal Regulations is amended by adding the following new
paragraph immediately after paragraph (3) thereof:
“(4) For the avoidance of doubt, this regulation only applies at the time of the
recruitment of a new employee.” - These Regulations were made by the Board this 30th day of March, 2023 and come into
operation on this said date.
