Our opinion
In our opinion, the accompanying summary financial statements of First Citizens Bank (Barbados) Limited (the Bank) are consistent, in all material respects, with the audited financial statements, in accordance with Section 45(a) of the Financial Institutions Act, Cap 324A of the Laws of Barbados.
The summary financial statements
The Banks’s summary financial statements derived from the audited financial statements for the year ended 30 September 2021 comprise:
the statement of financial position as at 30 September 2021; the statement of income for the year then ended;
the statement of comprehensive income for the year then ended; the statement of changes in equity for the year then ended;
the statement of cash flows for the year then ended;
The summary financial statements do not contain all the disclosures required by International Financial Reporting Standards. Reading the summary financial statements and the auditor’s report thereon, therefore, is not a substitute for reading the audited financial statements and the auditor’s report thereon. The audited financial statements, and the summary financial statements, do not reflect the effects of events that occurred subsequent to the date of our report on the audited financial statements.

We expressed an unmodified audit opinion on the audited financial statements in our report dated 29 November 2021.
Management’s responsibility for the summary financial statements
Management is responsible for the preparation of the summary financial statements in accordance with Section 45(a) of the Financial Institutions Act, Cap 324A of the Laws of Barbados.
Auditor’s responsibility
Our responsibility is to express an opinion on whether the summary financial statements are consistent, in all material respects, with the audited financial statements based on our procedures, which were conducted in accordance with International Standard on Auditing 810 (Revised), ‘Engagements to Report on Summary Financial Statements’.
Other matter
Our report, dated 29 November 2021 on the financial statements of First Citizens Bank (Barbados) Limited for the year ended 30 September 2021 was made solely to the Bank’s shareholder, as a body corporate, in accordance with Section 147 of the Companies Act of Barbados. That report stated that our audit work has been undertaken so that we might state to the Bank’s shareholder those matters we are required to state to them in an auditor’s report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law and subject to any enactment or rule of law to the contrary, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the Bank and the Bank’s shareholder as a body corporate, for our audit work, for our report dated 29 November 2021, or for the opinion we have formed.
